Hang-ups

I have been hanging posters and different things around the house that have positive messages. I hang them in places where I know they will get seen often. This one is on the bathroom wall.

The pillow pit

Sam, Eric, and their friend Quinn took all of the pillow and couch cushions in the house and made a huge pillow pit in the basement. her they are just lounging in the pit. It is really cozy!

Shooting in the dark

Eric and Sam bought new rifle dart guns, and decided to play in the house with the lights out. They were creeping around trying to shoot each other in the dark. It was great hearing them giggling when one of them got surprised with a dart to the head!

The game ball

Sam was so excited to play his first baseball game today. He really loves playing. He got the game ball because he had an awesome catch in the outfield, pitched really well, and he hit a triple! It is so exciting seeing him so passionate about playing. He said he would love it if he had a game every day.

Sam is playing fall baseball this year. Practice started today, and he got his new shirt and hat.

Walking Freddy?

Eric decided to make a little leash for Freddy so that he could take her for a walk around the house. We made it out of yarn, and we made sure it wasn't too tight to hurt her. She seemed to really like it.

Our nightly walks

One of my favorite things that we do each day is to go for a long walk at night. We take Owen, and Eric and Sam take their scooters, and away we go. We have some of the greatest conversations during these walks. There is something about the cool night air, the quiet, and the relaxed feeling of being together. I look forward to this every night!

Sam has been doing alot of drawing on his skin. Here is one of his designs. It is grass with some trees growing.

I wish I would have taken a video of this moth because it was so cool to watch. We think it was drying it's wings. It sat there for the longest time just fluttering very fast. We came back later and it was gone. It was huge too!

Sweet little Stuart

Here is our sweet guinea pig Stuart. She has been with us for about 6 years. She likes to be bundled up in a towel.

New shoes

Sam wanted me to take a picture of his new shoes. He really loves them!

Testing speed

We noticed that a new sign was put up in our neighborhood that shows how fast cars are going when they go by. The kids wondered if the sign would work for them on their bikes. It did measure their speed, so we tried to see how fast we could go! Luckily for us, Tim works for a radar detector company, so he explained to us how those machines work. They need to have a big enough target for the radar to bounce off of. And, we learned that it doesn't have to be metal for it to work. The radar bounces off the object and comes back to the sign. It measures how fast the radar goes out and comes back, and that information is used to calculate the speed. These are "action" shots of Eric and Sam zooming past the sign!

We went to Game Crazy to get our copy of Madden 09! They were having tournaments and giving stuff away for hours before we could buy the game at midnight!

Praying Mantis

Eric noticed this very cool Praying Mantis hanging out on the tire of the car. We watched it for quite awhile. We think he was praying that he could find a safe way off the tire before the car starts moving! heehee

The mysterious hotdog

Our local ice cream store, The Cone has had this big hotdog in front for a few weeks now. We can't seem to get a straight answer as to why it is there. It has mustard and everything!

We have a really cool ice cream place right down the street from our house. It is called The Cone, and it is very yummy. We went today and had chocolate and caramel over vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmm

Sam's blue toes

I bought some new nail polish today, and Sam wanted me to paint his toe nails. Here they are in sparkling blue. We had fun painting them, until I missed and painted his toe by accident! He said he thinks it is strange that people think only girls can paint their nails.

Eric's new game

Eric likes making up games for us to play. He made up this one with a ping pong ball and some cups of water. We try to bank the ball, bounce it, or just throw it right in the cup from different places around the room. It was fun!

Flowers for me?

I came downstairs this morning to find that my wonderful husband left beautiful flowers for me. He bought them last night and I didn't even know it. What a nice surprise!
