Happy Birthday To You!!

Today we celebrated the birth of my wonderful husband! We feel so grateful for him! It is fun to make his day special. His all time favorite is cheesecake, and every year on his birthday we get him a turtle cheesecake without the nuts. Yummy!!

Snowy icy trees

We have alot of ice and snow right now, and the trees look so beautiful!

My sweet boys (all three!)

Our driveway became a solid sheet of ice today. We all had a blast zooming down on sleds. At one point we were all on separate sleds with me in the middle. Sam and Eric said, you get in the middle! You will be the ping pong ball. Hmmm......I got pushed back and forth between them until I ended my ride in a big pile of snow. There was alot of laughing going on!! This picture brings so much joy to my heart. I love how they just hopped on the sled together and flew down the drive.

It's magical

This looked so cool! Eric was throwing a dustpan full of snow into the air. It really looked magical.

A snow experiment

Eric wanted to put a cup of water outside for the night. In the morning it was part slushy and part water.

Our yard is happy!

Eric decorated our yard and made it the happiest yard on the block!! I absolutely love this! I feel so full of joy just looking at it.

Awesome snow

We are starting to get some more snow. Eric and Sam are really hoping for enough so that they can sled ride and snowboard!

I wanted to share this beautiful picture. I found it in a magazine and loved it. The actual print is pretty expensive so I thought I would hang the one out of the magazine. It is by Arlene Graston and it is called You Are Not Alone.

An incredible day!

What an emotional day! I can't even put into words how exciting it was watching Obama become our new President! I could feel the collective energy that was swirling around the world! Hope!

Sam was making some chicken, and he thought the steam looked pretty cool. Since a watched pot never boils, he thought taking some pictures of it might speed up the process!

My favorite oatmeal chocolate chip cookies

I fell in love with this recipe that was on the bag of oat flour about 10 years ago. I love it! I forgot to double the recipe though, so they didn't last very long! Yummy!!

Tim just got home from work, and they all cozied up on the couch to catch up with each other. Even Owen joined in.

Playing in the snow

We got a small amount of snow. Not enough to go sledding in, but enough to draw in. Eric decorated the car and the driveway.

While we were at Ikea, we found these very cool rings to hang from the ceiling. What fun!

Enjoying the warm weather

We have had some uncharacteristically warm days so far this year. The sun was shining, and it was warm enough for short sleeves! We are bracing ourselves for a huge snowstorm because I am sure this won't last.
