We love our kitty

I guess it's pretty obvious that we love our new cat, since we take a lot of pictures of him. Here is Eric holding his new baby.

We didn't know that Casper could play the piano when we brought him home. He is quite accomplished, especially in the middle of the night when it is completely quiet. I had to laugh out loud the other night. Everyone but me (and Casper, apparently)was asleep, and all of the sudden I heard a song, okay just a few notes) being played on the piano. That was an eerie feeling!

Some (not so good) dinner rolls turn into glasses, and making funny faces.

Wii Fit Woo-Hoo

Today we got our Wii Fit. What a cool thing to have. Eric and Sam were the first to give it a try. It was a hit!

Has anyone seen the cat?

Casper has discovered the fish. He will sit for very long periods of time watching them swim around. So far he hasn't tried any fishing!

Cute alien cat picture

Casper's eyes just look so awesome! He is the sweetest little love bug ever. Owen actually likes him too I think. He is a bit nervous with him for some reason, but Casper just loves Owen. We are very happy about that. I do think Casper was waiting for us to come and rescue him, he is the perfect fit for our family! What a sweetie! Interesting bubble in the background, no idea what that is!

Burning stuff

We needed to experiment with fire, so we made a safe place and burned stuff! They really got it going in this picture.

Fire!

Sam has been really interested in fire lately, so he has been lighting matches and lighters. Of course, we were very safe with them. lol It was pretty funny going into the store with him to pick out what color lighter he wanted. We were laughing on the way out, thinking of all of those warnings about keep away from children. We talked about safety too, but in a trusting respectful way, so it was all good!

Lights Out!

We had another very windy night, and we lost power again! But we had fun taking goofy pictures.

The newest member of our menagerie

This is Casper, the newest member of our family. Eric has been wanting a cat for a few months now. He specifically wanted a black cat to match our black dog and black hamster. Also, he thinks it is crazy that so many people overlook adopting black cats because of the bad luck superstition! If you look very closely, the little munchkin does have a tiny bit of white on the tip of his tail. His eyes are a beautiful green that look a bit like an alien in this picture! We adopted him from a cat rescue organization.

Mountains of Snow

We were in a store parking lot, and Eric wanted to climb the mountains of snow. We stopped at each one and both Eric and Sam climbed to the top, stood for awhile, and then moved on. We got a few funny looks, but who cares!!

Ducks and Ice

On our way out of the Kalahari, there was a half frozen lake. We watched the ducks for quite awhile. They didn't seem bothered at all by the ice.

Who is under the wig?

Sam found a wig laying on the floor at the dance. Sam Montana?

The big Dance

The last night there was a big dance. It was so much fun seeing everyone so excited about getting dressed up (the theme was a Medieval Ball, dressing up was optional) and dancing! It went on until midnight, and Sam and I were there until it ended. At one point early on, Sam started a conga line, what fun! He is the one with the white shirt and black vest.

Playing in the halls

The Kalahari has the never ending halls! This place is so huge! It is a favorite activity of all of the kids to roam the hallways. And of course playing on the trolleys with new friends!

As you can tell, the pictures are somewhat sparse! There was alot going on at the conference, and I forgot to take picture alot of the time!

Carnival

Unschooling Winter Waterpark Gathering

This week was the Winter Waterpark Gathering at the Kalahari waterpark in Sandusky, Ohio! We left today to hit the slides with lots of other unschoolers!!

The first night was a carnival. We ran the Big Wheel game. Wasn't my hat the coolest?

Knocking down the ice

He found a huge icicle.

Eric loves knocking down the icicles and the snow off the trees.. The limbs are almost touching the ground because the ice is making them so heavy.
